Slow Dancing: Creativity and Illness: Duologue and Rengas by Malca Litovitz and Elana Wolff

Guernica Editions, 2008

This thin book is a "duologue" between the authors in the weeks and days before Malca Litovitz dies of cancer. In conversation, the women express their thoughts about poetry and its vital place in both of their lives. There is an urgency to the last pages as they create "renga" together, poems that alternate writers line by line. Malca is hospitalized, and the reader realizes she is sharing in last words. Slow Dancing is poignant, important, graceful, honest.
