Dear Reader,

Open Book and The Drake Hotel invite you and a guest to join us for a very fun Cocktail Party/Book Swap on Tuesday, October 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Drake. Bring your favourite OBPO-published book and swap with other guests for a new one (click on the invitation for details), while sipping cocktails and nibbling delicious hors d'oeuvres. If you would like to join us, please RSVP by October 21 to rsvp@openbooktoronto.com.

On Saturday, October 13, Bunch, Mabel's Fables, The Drake Hotel, and Open Book hosted Mini Lit at the Drake. Kids and adults enjoyed readings and performances by Sean Dixon, Loris Lesynski, and Shane Peacock. Enthusiasm for the readings was so great, that by mid-afternoon kids were rushing the stage. Between the readings, the crowd was entertained by the amazing N.I. Gel. Click here for photos from the event.

Our Writer-in-Residence, Zoe Whittall, is in high demand in the Canadian literary scene. By the end of this month, she will have read in Toronto and Montreal, been interviewed for print and radio, reviewed for the Globe and Mail, and hosted a reading at the International Festival of Authors, and she still takes time to write many brilliant and often hilarious blog entries for Open Book. Check out our Writer-in-Residence page to read Zoe's entries, including her interviews with writers Brian Joseph Davis, Stacey May Fowles, and Jacob McArthur Mooney. As always, please feel free to contact her at Open Book's WIR page.
