Enjoy live poetry readings by three talented authors:

Montreal writer-performer Catherine Kidd is author of the novel Missing the Ark, and of poetry collections Sea Peach and Bipolar Bear [conundrum press]. Her solo show Sea Peach toured internationally for five years. Graduating with great honours from Concordia's M.A. program in Creative Writing, Kidd has been published in P.E.N. International and The Journey Prize Anthology. She looks forward to launching her new show Hyena Subpoena, in Fall 2011.

Maureen Hynes's first book of poetry, Rough Skin (Wolsak and Wynn), won the League of Canadian Poet's Gerald Lampert Award for best first book of poetry by a Canadian. Her second collection, Harm's Way, was published by Brick Books, and third, Marrow, Willow, arrived in April, 2011 from Pedlar Press in Toronto.

Shane Rhodes' The Bindery (NeWest Press) won the 2007 Lampman-Scott Award for poetry. As well as publishing two other books of poetry, Shane has also received an Alberta Book Award, a previous Lampman-Scott Award, and the 2009 P. K. Page Founder's Award for Poetry. Shane will be reading from his newest book of poetry, Err (Harbour Publishing). It is a collision of sex, booze, war and wordplay, in which he tackles everything from AIDS to martinis with style, wit and clarity.
