Join Freehand Books in celebrating the launch of Stuart Ross’s first book of fiction in over a decade, Buying Cigarettes For The Dog. Readings by Stuart Ross with special guests Heather Hogan and Steve Venright. Music by sodapop (60s pop, soul, doo-wop, gospel). Free.

HEATHER HOGAN is a Toronto fiction writer whose stories have appeared in Taddle Creek, sub-Terrain and This Magazine.

STEVE VENRIGHT is the author of many books and chapbooks, including Floors of Enduring Beauty, Spiral Agitator, Visitations, and Notes Concerning the Departure of My Nervous System. He is also the force behind Torpor Vigil Industries. Steve lives in Toronto.

STUART ROSS is a writer, editor, and writing coach. He's the author of six full-length poetry collections (most recently Dead Cars in Managua), two collaborative novellas, a book of rants, and one previous story collection, Henry Kafka & Other Stories. Stuart is the Poetry Editor for Mansfield Press and the Fiction & Poetry Editor for This Magazine. He is a founding member of the Meet the Presses collective and a long-time small-press activist in Toronto.
