Join Brick Books authors, Jan Conn and Eve Joseph at LitLive in Hamilton. Jan will be reading from her collection Botero's Beautiful Horses and Eve will be reading from her second poetry collection The Secret Signature of Things (Brick Books, 2010).


Eve Joseph grew up in North Vancouver. As a young woman she traveled widely before moving to Victoria where she now lives with her family. Her first book, The Startled Heart (Oolichan Books), was shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay Award.

Jan Conn was brought up in Asbestos, Quebec. She now lives in Great Barrington, Massachusetts and works as a professor of Biomedical Sciences whose research is focused on mosquitoes, their evolution and ecology. She has published six previous books of poetry, most recently Jaguar Rain: the Margaret Mee Poems (2006). "Amazonia," a suite of poems, won second prize in the CBC Literary Awards, 2003 - and is included in her new book Botero's Beautiful Horses (Brick Books 2009).
