What's the point of going to a book group when no one reads that month’s title? The I Haven't Read a Book Club is a monthly literary salon for teen girls, co-presented by Mabel's Fables and Small print Toronto. Acclaimed author Lesley Livingston kicks off the series with the eagerly-awaited final installment in her Wondrous Strange trilogy, Tempestuous (Harper Collins).

ABOUT THE BOOK CLUB:

Unlike most book groups, the focus at The I Haven’t Read The Book Club is not on talking about stories but, rather, on making stories. Girls between fourteen and seventeen can take part in writing exercises with some of their favourite writers in an intimate setting. Authors will also conduct a group discussion about the creative process and read from their latest work.

Events will be held upstairs at Mabel’s Fables (662 Mount Pleasant Road) on Wednesday evenings. Registration is strictly limited. Visiting authors will have the opportunity to address a large school audience the day after their workshop. But much like the fabled bookshop itself, the “I Haven’t Read The Book” Club is designed to be a small space for big dreams.

PRICE: $30 Includes a signed copy of Tempestuous.
