Jessica Westhead reads from her novel, Pulpy and Midge (Coach House Books) at Type Books. Maya Merrick will also be reading from her latest book, The Hole Show (Conundrum).

Jessica Westhead is a Toronto writer who has published stories in litmags such as The Antigonish Review, Matrix, This Magazine, Geist, Taddle Creek, Forget Magazine, Word and Kiss Machine. Her fiction was included in the anthology Desire, Doom & Vice: A Canadian Collection, and her short-story chapbook, Those Girls, was published by Greenboathouse Books in 2006.

Maya Merrick’s first novel, Sextant, was just released in French by the respected Montreal publisher Les Éditions du Boréal. Since publishing her first novel she has been an invited guest at Word on the Street and Canzine in Toronto, The Helen Pitt Gallery in Vancouver, and The Pilot in Montreal. Her work has appeared in Geist, Matrix, and excerpt from The Hole Show appeared in The Portable Conundrum.
