Small Print Toronto presents Franklin at Totsapalooza

Sunday, February 27, 2011 - 2:00pm

783 College Street West
Toronto, ON

2011 marks the 25th anniversary of Franklin In The Dark (Kids Can Press) by author Paulette Bourgeois and illustrator Brenda Clark, the book that started their internationally acclaimed series. Bourgeois and Franklin (the turtle) himself will be the guests of honour at Small Print Toronto’s third annual, Totsapalooza: Franklin’s Backyard Birthday Blitz.

To celebrate this hometown milestone, a stellar roster of Toronto artists will perform. Don’t miss such stalwarts of our city’s twin indie and kindie music scenes as Hooded Fang, Jazz For Juniors, Don Kerr & Friends, Bellwoods Trinity and The Monkey Bunch, or readings by renowned CBC host and author Kevin Sylvester (Splinters), and local kids-lit heroes David Bruins & Hilary Leung (Ninja Cowboy Bear: The Way Of The Ninja).

Challenge your eco-wits with a giant version of Anouk Bikkers’ board game, Anouk’s Ark Endangered Species. And create Franklin-inspired crafts with Lisa Kelly from the Centre For Art & Soul.

Books will be available at the event from Mabel’s Fables.

Proceeds from “Totsapalooza: Franklin’s Backyard Birthday Blitz” will be donated to Right To Play Canada. Visit:
