Photos! OMDC's Janet Hawkins Awarded The Janice E. Handford Award

In November, Janet Hawkins, Industry Initiatives Book Consultant for the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), received the Janice E. Handford Award at a ceremony at the St Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts. The award is administered by the Organization of Book Publishers on Ontario (OBPO) and it is given annually to "an individual who has advanced the cause of small and literary Canadian publishing." The ceremony was packed with members of the publishing industry who were all delighted to celebrate Janet and the tremendous support she provides to Ontario publishing.

The Janice E. Handford Award was established in 1997. Past winners include Jack David, Roy Macskimming, Angela Rebeiro, Judy Mappin, Simon Dardick, Tim Inkster, David Caron, Karl Siegler, Stan Bevington and Jim Polk.
