Snapshots from Wayzgoose in Grimsby, 2010
On April 24th, the Grimsby Public Library and Grimsby Public Art Gallery were lined with tables which were stacked with books, prints, printmaking supplies, book art, bookbinding displays and other such goodies. The Wayzgoose Printers Festival in Grimsby is an annual event, and anyone interested in printmaking and beautiful books should try to check it out. The festival was packed, and by mid-afternoon, it was hard to get near many of the tables. Nonetheless, this OBT editor managed to elbow her way in to pick up some gorgeous books by George A. Walker (A is for Alice), Marta Chudolinska (Back + Forth) and Megan Speers (Wanderlust) and Margaret Locke ( Bookbinding Materials and Techniques 1700-1920), plus some very neat book art and hand-made paper. If you missed Wayzgoose this year, you can make the trip to Grimsby in Spring 2011.
Thanks to Michelle Walker for many of the photos.
