As I did research for my non-fiction children’s book, Off to Class, I learned about many incredible and unusual schools around the world, such as the one created by the inspirational Cambodian-Canadian Phymean Noun. Recognizing that a large population of kids were living and working at the Phnom Penh dump and not able to attend school, she set up a school beside the massive dump itself.
