Share |

It’s time to choose a book and place your bets. Canada Reads starts today at 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on CBC Radio One. The books in competition to be the book for Canada to read this year are King Leary by Paul Quarrington (selected by Dave Bidini), Brown Girl in the Ring by Nalo Hopkinson (selected by Jemeni), Icefields by Thomas Wharton (selected by Steve MacLean), From the Fifteenth District by Mavis Gallant (selected by Lisa Moore), and Not Wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findley (selected by Zaib Shaikh).

The Canada Reads website is filled with fun content, including contests, forums and blogs. Don’t just grumble to your friends and family over dinner about how your favourite book always gets voted off first, join the debate at Your Say on the Canada Reads website. You will also want to check out Julie Wilson’s wonderful Seen Reading sightings for Canada Reads, and make sure to visit Julie’s fabulous blog, Seen Reading. Who knows, she may have spotted you reading one of the five contenders.
