Celebrate the Launch of Van Gogh's Ear: Saturday, Nov 6

from our friends at French Connection Press:

French Connection Press is celebrating the launch of The Supernatural Edition, the seventh and final installment to Ian Ayres's international prose and poetry anthology series entitled Van Gogh's Ear. See our Events page for more details.

Based in Paris, France, and published in conjunction with Allen Ginsberg's Committee on Poetry in New York City, the Van Gogh’s Ear series has gained international acclaim since its debut in 1992 for its eclecticism and original creative work by all walks of life including celebrated poets, authors, artists and other discovered talents such as John Ashbery, Maya Angelou, Sonia Sanchez, Billy Collins, Margaret Atwood, Gordon Downie, Leonard Cohen, Quentin Crisp, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Joyce Carol Oates, Norman Mailer, Patricia Nell Warren, Paul Auster and John Updike.

Volume 7, The Supernatural Edition, was edited by prolific author, poet and memoirist Felice Picano, who has begun promoting the book across the USA. Picano most recently hosted a reading at Manhattan's trendy 192 Books, where he was reunited with fellow gay writers and remaining members of his revolutionary Violet Quill Club — Edmund White and Andrew Holleran — to read from their contributed works for this latest edition of Van Gogh's Ear. Picano will also be hosting another reading at Skylight Books in Los Angeles on November 6th with other great talents and Van Gogh's Ear contributors including Trebor Healey, Steven Reigns, Daniel Jaffe, and John Gilmore.

A reading hosted by Van Gogh's Ear publisher Eric Ellena will be held at Toronto's Re:Reading Bookstore on that same day to celebrate all the Canadian talents who have contributed to the series, with featured guests and contributors Robert Chrysler and Gabrielle McIntire.
