The Danforth Review’s Guide to Toronto Books: Spring 2008

Share |

As always, The Danforth Review is filled with all sorts of goodies, including reviews, fiction and a highly enjoyable "YouTube Guide to Canadian Literature." This month, TDR has published "the most expansive guide to TorLit." The guide lists "28 books you must have for Spring 2008" from a variety of publishers. It also includes interviews with Maggie Helwig, Pasha Malla, Claudia Dey, Sara Tilley, Nathan Whitlock and Meaghan Strimas, some of the authors of the must-have books, as well as a review of Jordan Scott’s Blurt (Coach House Books) and Skim (Groundwood Books), written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Jillian Tamaki. The list was compiled by features editor Nathaniel G. Moore.

While you’re browsing TDR, make sure to send them your answer to their "Not a short story contest." There’s no prize, but you will feel the glow of "satisfaction of having contributed to the broader understanding of the short story in Canada." TDR will publish a list of the titles in June 2008, which will be a reward for us all.
