On Saturday, December 4, Folded&Gathered Press and XEXE Gallery will celebrate the launch of Dark Star Requiem with a reading by internationally published poet and poetry activist Jill Battson. Jill Battson is an internationally published poet and poetry activist. She has been widely featured in literary journals and anthologies in North America and the UK and has performed her work around the globe. Her new book of poems, Dark Star Requiem, (Folded&Gathered Press, Nov.. 2010) formed the basis for libretto for the Dark Star Requiem Oratorio, composed by Andrew Staniland, and which premiered at the Luminato Festival in Toronto in June, 2010.

Folded&Gathered Press is an independent publisher and fine press. We are occasional publishers of books of literary and artistic interest. Our mandate is to produce limited edition volumes showcasing traditional printing and binding techniques, and in which the design of the book-as-object reflects the communicative intent of the authors and artists with whom we work.
