The March Hare festival

It's a long hop from Newfoundland to Toronto, but The March Hare literary festival is making it.

The festival, which was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, has welcomed some of Canada's best-loved writers over the years and has recently announced a stellar 2013 line up, including Miranda Hill, Michael Crummey, Miriam Toews and many more.

This year, the Atlantic spirit will be transported to Toronto for two-part launch on March 1 and 2 at a newly-opened venue on College Street, The Cage (292 College). The Saturday daytime event, co-hosted by the Creative Writing Program at the School for Continuing Studies, University of Toronto, will feature readings by emerging writers in the program as well as festival participants.

Afterwards, the 2013 readers will head back to heat up the east coast, with events from March 3 to 10.

For details about the Toronto events, click here (Friday, March 1, 2013) and here (Saturday, March 2, 2013). Special discounts for students are available.
