Markham Village Writers now Online

Share |

The Markham Village Writers' Group is a non-profit organization, established in September of 1999 for adults with a passion for writing. Their group mission: "We inspire each other to write, write, write!"

New members are always welcome at their meetings. In their words:

"Each meeting begins with discussion of any writing-life news, but the bulk of our time is devoted to reading our work aloud. Keeping a spirit of encouragement in mind, feedback is expected to be constructive.

A commitment to reading aloud works well since it motivates all of us to take pause in our busy lives and devote time to our craft in between meetings.

It’s not enough to dream about writing; we must sit down and do it!"

We meet on the first Wednesday of every month, from 7:pm to 9:pm (excluding July and August), in the Community Room at the Markham District 5 Police Station, 8700 McCowan Road (at Carlton Road) in Markham. Please park across the street in the Markville Secondary School parking lot. For more information, contact the moderator, Donna Marrin, at donna.marrin@staples.ca.
