CCBC Receives Overwhelming Response to Book Week 2012 Writing Contest

Thousands of talented young writers from all across the country have been hard at work since November writing poems and stories for the Book Week 2012 Writing Contest. The Canadian Children's Book Centre (CCBC), a non-profit organization that supports books for young readers, is hosting the annual contest in celebration of Book Week 2012 (May 5-12) and its accompanying theme — Read a Book, Share a Story. Canadian students between grades 4 and 12 were asked to share their poems or stories and the result was overwhelming. The CCBC received over 2000 submissions—that’s four times the amount they received last year!
