Meet OBT's July WIR, Thom Vernon

You dig reading his blog, want to meet Thom Vernon, Open Book's July Writer in Residence, in person? He has readings coming up this month in Toronto and Michigan. Stop by one the events to say hi and hear him read from his novel, The Drifts (Coach House Books).

The readings:

  • Local Authors Day! Indigo, Eaton Centre, Sunday, July 18, 1–3 p.m.
  • Reading & signing at Another Story Bookshop, 315 Roncesvalles Ave. Toronto. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 6 p.m.
  • Thom will be reading in his hometown at Schulers Books & Music, 2820 Towne Center Blvd., Lansing, Michigan. Thursday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m.

One OBT reader will also have the opportunity to meet Thom for a chat over a drink. He's holding "a little healthy competition." He writes, "whichever of you OB-ers engage with me the most substantively during the residency will get an inscribed copy of The Drifts and, if you're down for it, I'll buy you a coffee, a beer or a drink. Your choice." You can find the full details here.
