The Silver winners of the Nautilus Book Awards have been announced. In the Children’s/Young Adult Fiction and Fantasy Category, four of the seven winning books were published by Ontario-based publishers. The four books are Rise of the Golden Cobra (Annick Press) by Henry T. Aubin, Leaving Simplicity (Annick Press) by Claire Carmichael, Swahili for Beginners (Sumach Press) by Lisa Joyal and Eye of the Crow (Tundra Books) by Shane Peacock. Out of Line: Growing Up Soviet (Tundra Books) by Tina Grimberg was awarded a Silver prize for the Children’s/YA Non-Fiction Category.

The Nautilus Book Awards recognize “Books that Promote Spiritual Growth, Conscious Living, and Positive Social Change.” The winners are “carefully selected in a unique three-tier judging process by an experienced team of book reviewers, librarians, authors, editors, book store owners, and leaders in the publishing industry.” The Silver winners are moved to the final round of judging, and a gold winner will be selected from each category and announced at Book Expo America in Los Angeles on May 30.
