New Website for Pages Books and Magazines

Share |

One of Toronto’s finest independent bookstores, Pages Books & Magazines, has launched a great-looking new website that's filled with interesting content. According to Marc Glassman, the store’s proprietor, Pages "wanted to create a site that reflected the hip community spirit that has been behind Pages since the store opened in 1979. We wanted to create a fun place on the web where people could check out some books, enjoy some words and art by — and about — some of our friends, and keep in touch with the amazing events Pages hosts and sponsors."

The website lists the store’s bestsellers, staff picks, and books that are currently on sale. You can also read about upcoming This Is Not A Reading Series events and browse the archive of past events, check out photos of their famous art window, and read about the history of Pages. The site also includes articles about books, interviews with people who work in publishing, and spotlights on indie magazines. The site currently features an article by musician and writer Dave Bidini, an interview with Hal Niedzviecki about Broken Pencil Magazine, and interviews with publishers Beth Follett (Pedlar Press) and Andrew Steeves (Gaspereau Press). It’s a lovely website. Check it out at http://www.pagesbooks.ca.
