Hana's Suitcase Anniversary Album by Karen Levine

In the spring of 2000, a child’s suitcase baring the name Hana Brady found its way to Fumiko Ishioka, the curator of a small Holocaust education centre for children in Tokyo. Hana had perished at the Auschwitz concentration camp and Fumiko was determined to find out more about this brave, young girl. Fumiko’s research led to a documentary on CBC Radio in 2001 and Hana’s story became an award-winning book, Hana’s Suitcase (Second Story Press) in 2002. Now ten years later, the book is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special edition featuring all-new material, Hana's Suitcase Anniversary Album.

The book’s author, Karen Levine, will be speaking about the new edition with CBC’s The Next Chapter on May 14, 2012.
