Ten Questions with Karol Zelazny

Karol Zelazny’s latest book, Walk on Water in the World of Symptoms (BookLand Press), compares modern scientific findings to ancient concepts to explain the true nature of humans and to examine our purpose in life. Zelazny believes that life is not a journey in time but in consciousness. He will be signing copies of Walk on Water in the World of Symptoms on Saturday, May 10 at Chapters Square One in Mississauga. Visit our events page for details.

OB:

Tell us about your latest book, Walk on Water in the World of Symptoms.

KZ:

The book is designed to influence a paradigm shift in individual and collective consciousness of our global village. It is constructed of two parts. First, the book itself talks to a conscious intelligence and influences the change of beliefs and modus operandi of an individual. Second, there is a Personal Mastery Program on audio DVD that accompanies the book. When listened to, this program will influence changes to a subconscious tape of a given individual and spawn amazing coincidences that will propel such listener to health, prosperity, inner joy and last but not least realizing one's life’s purpose.

OB:

Did you have a specific readership in mind when you wrote your book?

KZ:

I thought a few New Age people would read it, but it turned out that the book attracts a diverse readership. It is very popular among investment bankers and crocodile hunters. I’m not kidding! The book is for anybody who is looking for serious answers to the conundrum known as life.

OB:

How did you research your book?

KZ:

The research was two or even three fold. You will notice a vast bibliography at the end of the book, ranging from Egyptian Book of The Dead to The Twelfth Planet by Z. Sitchin. Some of the answers, concepts and conclusions are derived from these sources. They are intertwined with my experiments and experiences of practicing the knowledge contained in these books. It is all supplemented by my work and observations as a Silva Ultramind ESP seminar instructor and a hypnotherapist specializing in Past Life Regression. I received abundant help from the Higher Intelligence, without which this book wouldn’t be possible. My goal was to discover the truth in regard to purpose of life on this planet and the most effective ways to realize this purpose. Mission accomplished!

OB:

Describe your ideal writing environment.

KZ:

Imagine a fresh summer morning. The sun is up. The scent of exotic flowers enters the room through an open window. You are at peace with yourself in quiet state of inner joy. All is well in your life, but this is well earned. Silence surrounds you with a cocoon of golden fleece. You throw a sentence on a paper and it lands there softly with cat like elegance and swiftness. You feel eternally grateful and blessed with an abundant, timeless creativity.

Plus you are close to a beach, living in a cozy little bungalow in Hawaii!

OB:

What was your first publication?

KZ:

There were some short stories before but “Walk on Water in the World of Symptoms” is my first real publication.

OB:

If you had to choose three books as a “Welcome to Canada” gift, what would those books be?

KZ:

I would choose books that can be considered “welcome to any country” since we really inhabit one country. I call this country: Planet Earth. My three choices are:

  • Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda
  • Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
  • Walk on Water in the World of Symptoms by Karol Zelazny

I also recommend these three books for anyone who plans being stranded on a deserted island.

OB:

What are you reading right now?

KZ:

Toronto Star.

OB:

Describe the most memorable response you've received from a reader.

KZ:

“Who is this guy, an Einstein? How can he have all this knowledge?” I wonder myself!

OB:

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received as a writer?

KZ:

No one gave me any tips and I was too proud to ask! That’s why it took so long for me to develop!

OB:

What is your next project?

KZ:

I plan to publish three more books. A sequel to Walk on Water in the World of Symptoms subtitled The Noble Path. Short stories, already written and a novel, partly written with Strawberry Revolution as a working title.
