Festival Preview: Video Games & Books Collide at The WordPlay Festival

Combine your love of great stories and your love of video games at one of the most unique artistic festivals in the city this weekend! The Wordplay Festival on Saturday, November 7, 2015 is a celebration of the world's best in writerly video games, and features a full afternoon of conversations with writers and developers, a playable game showcase, interactive workshops, and other attractions. Her Story:

One of the mainstage speakers is Sam Barlow, the creator of Her Story.

In 1994 a British woman is interviewed seven times about her missing husband. This is her story. A crime fiction game with non-linear storytelling, Her Story revolves around a police database full of live action video footage.

Night in the Woods:

The development team from Night in the Woods will be among the featured speakers at Wordplay this Saturday.

All Mae wants to do is run around with her friends, break stuff and hang on to a life of aggressive aimlessness. She dropped out of college and returned home to her crumbling old mining town to do just that, but she's finding that nothing is the same anymore.

Ladykiller in a Bind:

If you're at Wordplay, don't miss the retrospective of internationally acclaimed (and Torontonian) creator Christine Love, who will be presenting her newest work, Ladykiller in a Bind.

Ladykiller in a Bind, AKA My Twin Brother Made Me Crossdress As Him And Now I Have To Deal With A Geeky Stalker And A Domme Beauty Who Want Me In A Bind! asks players an you survive seven days trapped on a cruise ship with your brother’s classmates and enemies, forced into a game of high stakes social manipulation?
