The wait to find out who has made the shortlist for the 2011 Griffin Poetry Prize — the largest prize for an English poetry collection in the world — is nearly over. The international and Canadian shortlists will be announced at Le Select Bistro in Toronto on Tuesday, April 5th. This year's judges are Canada's Tim Lilburn, Ireland's Colm Toíbín and America's Chase Twichell.

Here, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin of Ireland reads "The Sister," a poem which brings together two of her life-long obsessions: nuns and trains. Her book The Sun-Fish (The Gallery Press) was the International winner for the 2010 Griffin Poetry Prize.
