A "reading" from Toby: A Man, by Todd Babiak

Todd Babiak is in France, not Toronto, in this video, but he will be in here on February 23rd for the launch of his forth novel, Toby: A Man (HarperCollins Canada), at Dora Keogh Traditional Irish Pub. Todd was Open Book's first writer in residence when we launched in September 2007, and his thoughtful, funny, self-depreciating blog entries struck a chord with our new readership.

About Toby: A Man:
"Toby: A Man concerns Toby Ménard, a men's etiquette commentator who, in the space of a few hours, loses everything that makes his perfect life in Montreal perfect - the TV job, the marvelous girlfriend, the condo, the BMW. He is forced to move back to his parents' basement in the suburbs, where a strange woman abandons a two-year-old boy into his care. Toby's parents' tragedies become his own, and he must make profound decisions about the man - and father - he wants to be."
